FORTEC Benelux developing the next generation of NOTTROT monitors
12/02/2026
New screen sizes, technical upgrades and DNV Type Approval
Behind the scenes, FORTEC Benelux is continuously working on the further development of our NOTTROT monitor portfolio.
Alongside our day-to-day customer projects, several product developments are currently running in parallel.
Through these developments, we continue to invest in the performance, reliability and long-term availability of our professional monitor solutions.
New monitor range in development
A major part of this development is a new generation of NOTTROT monitors.
The new product range will initially be built around the following screen sizes:
18.5” | 24” | 27” | 55”
At the same time, both existing and new models are being upgraded with new hardware and further firmware development.
Our approach remains the same: introducing technical improvements without losing sight of the practical requirements of system integrators and existing installations.
Preparing for ECDIS
We are also taking further steps in the field of maritime display performance.
Testing is currently underway for colour calibration for ECDIS applications.
Accurate and consistent colour reproduction is essential in these applications and requires precise alignment of the display, electronics and configuration.
DNV Type Approval extended until 2031
An important milestone has already been reached: the DNV Type Approval for our current monitor range has officially been extended until 24 March 2031.
New models are also being prepared and tested with future DNV certification in mind.
For our customers and system integrators, this provides continuity for existing projects while we continue developing the next generation of monitor solutions.
Developing, testing and improving
Product development at FORTEC Benelux is a step-by-step process.
New technology is not only designed, but thoroughly tested before becoming part of our standard NOTTROT portfolio.
Development of the new monitor range, DNV certification and ECDIS capabilities continues.
Further updates will be shared through our website and LinkedIn.
No two applications are the same.
A display installed on a ship’s bridge faces very different requirements from one integrated into a naval platform, industrial machine or air traffic control system.
That is why we start with the application, not the product.
Tell us where and how the monitor will be used, what requirements it needs to meet and how it will be integrated into your system. Our sales and engineering teams will help you determine the right solution.
